Nursing Unit Manager - Operating Theatres

Urology and Robotics

Sydney
  • Wallace Street Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced fulltime Nursing Unit Manager to lead a perioperative team in Urology and Robotics, at a very well-respected hospital in Sydney, with well renowned Urologists
  • The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) will have 1 to 2 specialty urology and robotics theatres and 9 Registered Nurses reporting directly to them (scrubs/scouts)
  • The overall theatre complex currently consists of 13 operating theatres and a combined recovery room
  • The hospital performs simple to complex endoscopic, open laparoscopic and Robotic Urology
  • The NUM of the unit, manages the resources and staff of the specialties within their discipline mix
  • The NUM provides management, mentorship, and support in the achievement of excellence in nursing practice

Key Criteria:
  • AHPRA Nurses Registration – unrestricted
  • Experienced Registered Nurse with Perioperative postgraduate and/or management/leadership qualifications or, working towards same
  • Demonstrable leadership capability
  • Highly developed skills including excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adept at fostering positive working relationships
  • Strong commitment to quality improvement and willing to undertake an active role to initiate and contribute to quality activities
  • Knowledge of relevant Legislation and ACCORN Compliance requirement
  • Current Police Record Check, Working With Children Check (if applicable) and Immunisations
