About the Role
Wallace Street Recruitment are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager (NUM)
to lead a multidisciplinary team across Medical, Surgical, and Rehabilitation services on a busy 35-bed unit. Based in a supportive, community-focused private hospital, this role offers the opportunity to lead change, shape care delivery, and support the recovery journeys of diverse patient groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support nursing and allied health teams within the unit and hospital environment
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and best-practice clinical care
- Manage staff rostering, performance, and professional development
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and patient-centred care environment
- Collaborate closely with medical staff and executive leadership teams
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) – unrestricted
- Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience with proven leadership with extensive clinical knowledge and skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary clinical governance of hospital management, implementing quality improvement initiatives, policy development and accreditation programs relating to National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
- Experience with roster management, workforce planning and resource modelling for a busy unit
- Understanding of AROC and FIM collection requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and mentorship skills
- Current Working with Children Check, Police Check or willingness to obtain
- Evidence of vaccinations and serology against communicable diseases in accordance with NSW Health Guidelines
- Post graduate qualifications in relevant speciality and/or management as well as previous experience in a private hospital sector is desirable but not essential.
