Nursing Unit Manager (NUM 1)
Operating Theatres
Are you an experienced and highly motivated Peri-Operative Registered Nurse, CNS or NUM looking for career progression and/or a sea change?

  • Wallace Street Recruitment is looking for an experienced AHPRA Registered Nurse for the role of NUM1 in Operating Theatres
  • The hospital is a lovely, 64 bed Private Hospital, located near the beach, on the Mid-North Coast of NSW
  • This role will provide you with the opportunity to:
  • Promote a positive culture and lead a clinical team to deliver safe, timely patient focused care for optimal outcomes for all stakeholders
  • Create and maintain an environment that is one of best practice and continuous improvement
  • Develop strong working relationships with physicians and VMO’s
  • Maintain effective resource management, develop and monitor strategies to achieve organisational goals
  • Work with a progressive Regional Theatre Manager, the Director of Clinical Services along with the Regional CEO and a committed hospital team, to deliver high standard patient experiences and outcomes
Essential Criteria:
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA Registration - Registered Nurse
  • A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in Peri-Operative nursing
  • Relevant nursing and perioperative qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance, best practice and evidence-based care
  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement principles, accreditation, clinical policy development and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical education
  • Passionate about patient care and service and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
  • High accountability and the ability to demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging leadership style
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and work well with interdisciplinary staff
  • Sound organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, including computer skills and patient management systems
  • Current Australian Work Rights

Desirable:
  • Experience in peri-operative leadership and management
  • Post graduate nursing qualifications in relevant specialty or willing to work towards same
  • Previous experience in the private hospital sector
  • Familiarity with health funds, Medicare, DVA, Workcover and third-party requirements
  • Experience in a nurse management role
