Regional Operating Theatre Manager - NUM 3

Are you an experienced Operating Theatre senior AHPRA Registered Nurse looking for career progression and/or a sea change?

  • Wallace Street Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and highly skilled Operating Theatre RN for this senior role, located in a beautiful area of regional NSW, near the beach
  • Working across two modern regional hospitals with 5 operating theatres in total, including CSSD and day surgery units, you will report directly to the Directors of Clinical Services at both sites and the Regional CEO
  • The Regional Operating Theatre Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of these two busy theatre complexes
  • If you are organised and passionate about operating theatres, teamwork and patient care, this role will provide you with the opportunity to work with a dynamic executive team across both hospitals, focused on high standards of healthcare delivery and continually striving to improve performance
  • The successful candidate will be involved with Strategic Planning with the Regional Executive Committee and the CEO
  • This is an excellent opportunity to join committed teams across these two hospitals that cater to surgical, medical and rehabilitation needs within the region

Essential Criteria:
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA Division 1 Registration
  • 5 years of post-graduate experience in the perioperative peri-operative setting and experience as a Scrub/Scout Registered Nurse
  • 2 years management experience in the peri-operative setting
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement principles, accreditation clinical policy development and implementation
  • Demonstrated management experience and leadership accountability
  • Proven ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and procurement resources
  • Experience in clinical education
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including computer skills
  • The ability to collaborate with the CEO and Directors of Clinical Services to align operations with organisational goals, priorities and the strategic plan
  • Current Working With Children Check and Police Check
  • Immunisation history as per Category A Healthcare worker requirements
  • Australian work rights

Desirable Criteria:
  • Post-graduate qualifications within the operating theatres and/or health management qualification and/or experience in a nursing management role
  • Previous experience in the private sector
  • Financial and business management experience
  • Familiarity with health funds, Medicare, DVA, Work Cover and Third Party requirements
